Christmas Lights
Since 2020 HBCCT has been involved in supporting and helping the Herne Bay's Christmas lights team with the annual lights display. In 2023, The Christmas Lights formally joined the Herne Bay Coastal Community Team.
Please note are not part of Canterbury City Council and receive NO funding from them. Consequently, we are solely reliant a small but generous group of businesses, sponsors, and you the residents of the Bay.
We know that the Christmas Lights help build our community by bringing people together, enhancing feelings of well-being, making the Bay look attractive and encouraging people to shop in our town.
For every £1 invested in Christmas lights means over £5 income to the local economy.
2025
2025 was another fantastic year and turn out from everyone.
The town looked absolutely stunning from the warm glow of the lights along the streets to the festive touches by the seafront, it’s the kind of atmosphere that brings everyone together. You can almost hear the laughter, the music, and that unmistakable festive buzz just from the photos alone.

2024
From the glowing trees lining the streets to the festive sparkle lighting up the seafront, it’s amazing to see how the whole community comes together to make this happen. Every photo captures that proper Christmassy feeling – lights twinkling, people gathering, and that cosy buzz you only get this time of year.
